According to the 2024 Guangdong Government Work Report, the province will expand high-level opening-up to the outside world, launch a range of integrated measures in foreign trade, foreign investment, foreign economic cooperation, offshore outsourcing, and overseas talent attraction, establish an economic system with higher-level openness, and tap into the potential of overseas Chinese in the new era.
More than 20 representatives of overseas Chinese attended the annual session of the Guangdong Provincial CPPCC this year. They have brought good ideas for the development of their hometowns and connecting China with the world. Lin Haiyan, Chairman of the Mauritius Chinatown Foundation, said, "China is the place to be. As long as young people have dreams and aspirations to make a difference, China offers significant opportunities for them."
