In May, as early-season lychees hit the market in Dianbai, Maoming, both domestic and export sales surged.
"Currently, our exported lychees are mainly early-ripening varieties. In the coming days, we'll ship dozens of tons of fresh lychees to Australia and Canada," stated a representative from Guangdong Zefengyuan Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. in Danchang Town, Dianbai District, on May 13.
Since dispatching its first export order on April 30, the company has sent multiple batches of lychees to Japan, Australia, Canada, the UK, and other countries, with total exported and processed lychees reaching 82 tons.
As one of Maoming's primary lychee-producing areas, Dianbai has a planting area of approximately 24,000 hectares.
Since 2000, the district has actively expanded overseas markets, promoting lychee exports through measures such as accelerating variety improvement, enhancing standardized production practices, expanding certified orchard areas, guiding applications for lychee export demonstration bases, and cultivating international sales talent.
