On October 31, Guangdong reported 239 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases (190 in Guangzhou, 23 in Shenzhen, 8 in Shantou, 1 in Foshan,16 in Meizhou, and 1 in Jiangmen), and 458 local asymptomatic infections (289 in Guangzhou, 6 in Shenzhen, 1 in Shantou, 4 in Foshan, 154 in Meizhou, 2 in Jiangmen, and 2 in Jieyang).
In addition, 3 local confirmed cases were converted from previous asymptomatic cases (2 in Jiangmen and 1 in Qingyuan).
Guangzhou reports 190+289 new local cases
Guangzhou held a press conference on the city's fight against COVID-19 today (November 1).

"On October 31, Guangzhou reported 479 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases, among which 6 cases were detected at community level while the others were detected during quarantine and screening in controlled areas." Zhang Yi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission, said at the press conference.
Haizhu District added 341 new local cases on October 31. Most new cases were detected in high or medium risk areas in Fengyang and Chigang subdistricts (凤阳街、赤岗街), where there were intensive flow of people before the COVID-19 control measures were implemented. The number of new infections in high-risk areas in Guitian of Jianghai Subdistrict (江海街桂田) has decreased.
New infections were detected at community level in Tongde, Junhe, Shijing, Xinshi subdistricts and Renhe Town in Baiyun District (同德街、均禾街、石井街、人和镇、新市街), which involves crowded public spaces. There are risks of community transmission.
Tianhe District has had no new infections at the community level for 2 days and situation appears to be stabilizing and improving. Currently, Guangzhou has clusters of cases in Haizhu, Baiyun, and Tianhe . There are also sporadic cases in Liwan, Zengcheng, and Huadu.
Most new cases reported on October 31 were detected in urban villages in controlled areas, which implies the problem of cross-infection.

Baiyun District: Songzhou Subdistrict (松洲街道)

Shenzhen adds 23+6 local cases
On October 31, Shenzhen reported 23 new confirmed cases and 6 asymptomatic infections. Among the new cases, 28 were detected during centralized quarantine and 1 in the screening of key people under non-closed loop management.
Tracking of the new cases involves: Xixiang Subdistrict, Bao'an District (宝安区西乡街道)
Zhuhai reports 1 asymptomatic infection from Macao SAR
On October 31, Zhuhai reported 1 asymptomatic case arriving from Macao, and the individual was detected during screening at the community level.
Tracking of the case in the past four days involves: Gongbei Subdistrict, Xiangzhou District (香洲区拱北街道)
Meizhou's Fengshun County adds 170 local cases
Meizhou's Fengshun County detected 170 new cases on October 31 (16 mild-type cases and 154 asymptomatic cases). Of the new cases, 82 were identified in high-risk areas, 40 during home quarantine, and 48 during centralized quarantine.
Shantou reports 8+1 new local cases
Shantou added 8 confirmed cases and 1 asymptomatic case on October 31.
From 8:00 to 12:00, Shantou's Chaonan District reported 4 new local positive cases, all detected among close contacts under quarantine.
On the early morning of October 31, Shantou's Jinping District reported 1 person with abnormal nucleic acid test result.
Foshan reports 1+4 new local cases
On October 31, Foshan's Nanhai District reported 5 new confirmed cases during a collaborative investigation with another city and the screening of close contacts. Among the cases, 1 was diagnosed as a confirmed case and 4 as asymptomatic infections.
Jiangmen's Pengjiang District detects 3 confirmed cases
On October 31, Pengjiang District reported 3 newly locally transmitted confirmed cases during centralized quarantine.
Jieyang's Puning and Jiexi Counties detect 1 local case respectively
From 00:00 to 12:00, October 31, Puning added 1 new asymptomatic infection, detected among the residents returning from outside Puning.
On the same day, Jiexi County reported 1 new asymptomatic case, detected among the quarantined close contacts.
