A Business Delegation of the 133rd Canton Fair took a tour to Guangzhou's Yuexiu District on April 16, attending the event of Orchid Culture, Tourism and Art Week and visiting Wanling Wholesale Center.
Members of the delegation are from Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil, and Turkey. They enjoyed Cantonese Opera and Guqin performance in the Orchid Garden, and also learned about local cultural products such as olive carving and calligraphy.
PELİN, a member of Turkey's Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, was impressed by the olive carving, "It takes so much patience to make such a masterpiece." She was also interested in Cantonese Opera performances and put on the costumes for photos.
"The Orchid Garden is a nice place with green trees right here in Guangzhou's city center. And it also reserves traditional cultures and presents cultural performances, which is impressive," LOO KOK SEONG, President of Malaysia-China General Chamber of Commerce, noted his impression of Guangzhou.
The delegation also visited the Wanling Wholesale Center. They explored products such as toys and gifts and talked to the local merchants. "I would like to invite more Indonesian businessmen to come here and share the opportunities in Guangdong," said Henry Hidjaja, a member of the Indonesia-China Chamber of Commerce.
