Guangzhou Nansha presented at China-ASEAN Expo

Guangzhou’s Nansha District set up a booth at the ongoing 19th China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, Guangxi, from September 16 to 19, aiming to promote China’s latest plan to develop Nansha. A signing ceremony will also be held to further the trade cooperation between Nansha and ASEAN countries.

The Nansha Import Trade Promotion and Innovation Demonstration Zone will participate in the industrial partnering event jointly held by Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), with the aim to integrate into the cooperation between the two regions and further international cooperation with the infrastructure in Guangxi. Nansha is also the only regional representative of Guangdong to promote the Nansha event.

According to the Nansha government, Nansha saw rapid growth in foreign trade with its export volume hitting 135.1 billion RMB from January to July 2022, accounting for 23.1 percent of the city’s total. The district’s export volume reached 67.58 billion RMB, up 11.1 percent year on year.

The implementation of RCEP has expanded China-ASEAN cooperation since its implementation in 2022. Later in June, the "Nansha Plan" was issued, which indicates the district will be developed into a strategic platform to further global cooperation.

Moreover, Nansha launched a series of advantageous policies to promote foreign trade, aiming to simplify customs procedures, ease access of foreign investment, and promote offshore trade to strengthen financial cooperation.
