Recently, DNA Paris Design Awards 2022 announced its winners. Guangzhou Book Center's Panyu Store became the winner in interior design/retails. The bookstore was described as "building a new urban reading experience space by exploring the diverse connotations of Guangzhou's local culture and life."

Covering an area of 3,000 square meters, Guangzhou Book Center's Panyu Store is divided into six different thematic spaces, with reading ladders and a cultural activity area. The design of the bookstore was inspired by the landscape paintings in the Song Dynasty. The ancient artistic elements are integrated in the design of the walls and windows, which evokes the emotional resonance of the traditional culture through rustic materials and urban symbols.

"When we were tasked with the project for Guangzhou Book Center's Panyu Store, our team held the concept that a new bookstore in the future must be built on a historical and cultural basis," said Lin Yingjie, the designer of the bookstore. He also mentioned that the existence of this creative bookstore itself is not only a continuation of the spiritual culture, it is also the real life.
