Guangdong closes ties with foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong

Guangdong held a meeting with representatives from foreign chambers of commerce in Hong Kong and promoted Guangdong's investment environment on February 20 in Hong Kong, attracting 11 foreign chambers, including those from Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada, Austria, Singapore, and Mexico.

The representatives from the foreighn chambers of commerce expressed their optimism about the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). They hoped that Guangdong would take adequate measures to enhance the facilitation of personnel exchanges, increase international flight frequencies, meet the demand for high-skilled labor, establish an online database for GBA enterprises, and issue GBA cards to further promote the free flow of various factors in the area.

Later, a promotion conference for Guangdong's investment environment was co-organized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Over 60 representatives from multinational companies based in Hong Kong, such as AstraZeneca, HSBC, Takeda, and Nestle, participated in the conference.

Zhang Jinsong, director general of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, elaborated on Guangdong's investment advantages from five aspects: strategic dividends, market capacity, industrial support, transportation conditions, and ecological environment. He proposed key cooperation directions such as jointly promoting manufacturing investment cooperation and establishing trade platforms. He also explained Guangdong's investment policies for focus industries like artificial intelligence, new energy, and the digital economy.
