More imported meat to enter Guangzhou through Nansha cold-chain project

Guangzhou's residents will have more choices of premium imported meat products, as the Guangzhou Nansha International Cold Chain Designated Inspection Field for Imported Meat has recently been approved by China's General Administration of Customs. This means that the Nansha Cold Chain Logistics Distribution Center is eligible to inspect imported meat in addition to imported fruits, seedling, aquatic products, and dairy products.

Located in Guangzhou's Nansha Port Area, the logistics centre is China's largest single cold storage facility, covering an area of 208 thousand square meters with a planned storage capacity of 460 thousand metric tons. It can provide one-stop comprehensive cold chain logistics services.

According to the Nansha government, 1.161 million tons of cold-chain products were imported from the Nansha Port in 2022, an increase of 69.1 percent, and the import value of cold-chain products from the Nansha Port ranked third in China.

Nansha has carried out a series of measures to improve its cold-chain logistics industry and construct an international shipping hub in recent years, including using 5G technology and optimizing the custom clearance procedures to ensure the efficiency of importing perishable agricultural products such as fruits.
