Chinese scientists have a breakthrough in the research of radiation asymmetry, which is expected to have broad applications in photoelectric detection, thermal radiation, micro LED, and quantum emission.
The research team led by Professor Jianwen Dong from Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong, recently published their findings in Physical Review Letters.
The team found that bilayer metagratings possess the topological property in pseudo-polarization and thus two previously discovered topological modes can be unified in the pseudo-polarization picture. At the same time, they found that the topology of radiation asymmetry can be used for coherent perfect absorption with a continuously tunable phase difference.
