If you're coming to China from these places, you need to know these...

Recently, some Chinese embassies and consulates abroad have announced the adjustments of the requirements for passengers travelling to China, according to the local pandemic situation and the number of flights to China.

Here are the details:

1. The Chinese Embassy in Germany

Starting from February 21, 2022, the pre-boarding requirements for COVID-19 testing for vaccinated passengers departing from/via Germany on direct flights to China will be adjusted. The transition period is from February 21 to March 6.

All vaccinated passengers traveling to China will be required to have two negative COIVD tests within 48 hours in two different sites but in the same consular district. The IgM antibody test is no longer needed.

During the transition period, the vaccinated passengers have three options:

1) Two COVID tests within 48 hours before departure in two different sites.

2) Two COVID-19 tests within 48 hours before departure in the same site, and the time interval between two tests should be at least 24 hours.

3) One COVID-19 test and one IgM antibody test within 48 hours before departure.



2. The Chinese Embassy in Laos

All passengers who are going to China must undergo 3 COVID-19 tests. The IgM antibody test is no longer required.

The first COVID-19 test shall be conducted at Laos infectious disease analysis center on the 7th day before departure. In line with the arrangements of different airlines, the second one shall be carried out within 72 hours prior to the departure for China, while the third one within 48 hours.

This notice took effect on February 17th, and passengers who take flights on or after February 25th, 2022 shall strictly follow the rules.



3. The Chinese Embassy in Singapore

If passengers need to transit via Singapore, they shall strictly follow the requirements of pre-departure tests and apply for health codes accordingly.

● Passengers shall apply in advance to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate at place of origin for Health Codes before departure to Singapore.

● Passengers shall strictly fulfill pre-departure self-isolation.

● Passengers are advised to properly plan their itineraries and shall provide test memos as required.




4. The Chinese Consulate-general in Karachi, Pakistan

In order to prevent the trans-border spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of travelers, the following adjustment on application for HDC are made by the Chinese Consulate-general in Karachi, Pakistan.

Starting from 15th February 2022, the IgM & IgG antibody test during the pre-test procedure within 21 days (inclusive) to 28 days (inclusive) prior to boarding are canceled. Babies under the age of 3 (inclusive) no longer need to do the two tests.



The closed-loop self-quarantine must be carried out strictly after pre-testing and double test procedure.
