The channel will allow for seamless transfers between the two lines on the same level.
The Hengqin extension line is a key cross-border infrastructure project between Macao and Hengqin, officially starting on March 18, 2021. The project includes stations at "HE1" next to the Taipa Line Lotus Bridge Station and "HE2" located in the basement of the Hengqin Port.

The project is so far largely complete, with test trains already running on the Hengqin extension line and relevant system and train tests underway. The Hengqin extension line project is scheduled for inspection and trial operation in October, promising to enhance cross-border travel convenience and integrate Macao into the Greater Bay Area's "one-hour living circle."
