Macao students in Hengqin for study trip, expanding future career options

On May 25th, more than 260 Macao students from Pui Ching Middle School went on a study trip to the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

The trip introduced students to both the local natural scenery and industrial parks, and concluded with a sharing session in the Novoton.

This event was jointly organized by the Macao Youth Federation, the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of In-depth Cooperation Zone and the school, in order to encourage young Macao students to learn about the Hengqin and provide more choices for their future career planning.

In his speech, Kou Kam Fai, the principal of Pui Ching Middle School, said, "The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin allows Macao youths to have a broader space for entrepreneurship and development, and provides Macao companies with a platform for R&D and technological innovation.” He also mentioned that his students would be able to learn about the new development trend between Hengqin and Macao.

Wong Ka-Lun, chairman of the Macao Youth Federation, revealed that in the past two weeks, the association has organized more than 600 young students from Macao to the Hengqin for study trips to provide themwith more choices for their future careers.

During the sharing session, students listened to the stories shared by two local entrepreneurs,VONG KENG HEI, the director and deputy director of the Hengqin Zhuhai-HongKong-Macao (Foreign-Related) Public Legal Service Center, and Hazel Haung, founder of Bay Valley Technology Research (Ltd.).

"I have realized that it has become more common for young people from Macao to develop in Hengqin. I think a series of preferential policies and entrepreneurial experience has made it easier for young people in Macao to start their own business here than before," a student, He Dexian said when sharing that he visited some catering businesses in Hengqin, and with the fresh knowledge of the development history of some catering brands he gained today, he is confident in the prospect of entrepreneurship here.
