GBA international communication centre set up in Nansha

The Greater Bay Area International Communication Centre was established in Guangzhou’s Nansha on February 18, which was announced at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) International Communication Forum held on the same day.

32 media agencies have settled in the centre, including Xinhua News Agency, Nanfang Daily, and GDToday.

“Last year, the State Council issued an overall plan to promote comprehensive cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao by further deepening the opening-up in the Nansha District. With national strategic positioning, Nansha is an important place in terms of sharing information about the GBA with the world,” said Du Xinshan, Director of the Guangzhou Municipal Publicity Department.

According to the Nansha government, the centre is expected to provide the GBA information service in multiple languages through cooperation with media agencies and utilizing big data and artificial intelligence technologies.

Facilities such as a press conference room, interview room, live studio, meeting rooms, and shared office area have been equipped in the centre.

“The GBA is opening and dynamic. The establishment of the centre will accelerate the GBA’s development as it helps spread information to let the world know about the district’s economic development and business opportunities,” said Lu Cairong, Vice Head of China International Communications Group.
