The list of winners of this year's Guangzhou International Award has been announced at the 2023 Global Mayors' Forum & 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation, which is ongoing in Guangzhou from December 7 to 9.
The Winners of the 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation are Bogotá in Colombia, Chalandri in Greece, Gwangju in the Republic of Korea, Kampala in Uganda, Xianning in China.
The Winners of the Medal of Honor are Antalya in Türkiye, Cape Town in South Africa, Iztapalapa in Mexico, Jakarta in Indonesia, Kazan in Russia, Mannheim in Germany, Pimpri Chinchwad in India, Ramallah in Palestine, São Paulo in Brazil, Tehran in Iran.
The City of Your Choice is Xianning in China.
The aim of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation is to recognize innovation in improving social, economic, and environmental sustainability and good urban governance in cities and regions and, in doing so, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.
The thematic areas include social inclusion and shared prosperity, environmental protection and resilience, public services and infrastructure, urban heritage and cultural preservation, smart cities and technology governance.
