Guangzhou to construct 12 international blocks in various districts

Recently, Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office published a pilot list for 12 international blocks, aiming to feature facilities that focus on culture, business, tourism, and a friendly living environment. The list is as follows:

1. Ershadao Block, Yuexui District

A multi-functional international sport & leisure block surrounded by art museums, Xinghai Concert Hall, and national cultural relics protection scenic spots.


2. Canton Tower Block, Haizhu District

A landmark business center with outstanding commercial agglomeration and interactive experience.


3. Shamian Block, Liwan District

A block where Guangzhou culture meets western culture, with 137 ancient trees and 54 national heritage buildings. Shamian is listed as a national heritage protection area. It houses the White Swan Hotel (the first five-star hotel on the mainland), Shamian Hall, the Government Residence of the provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Guangdong Foreign Affairs Club. There are also 16 foreign-invested enterprises from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the world's top 500 enterprises Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group.


4. Liede Street, Tianhe District

The block is located in the core business area, with 103 Fortune 500 enterprises stationed worldwide. It has 30 consulates and more than 2,000 overseas personnel living and working here.


5. Guangzhou Design Capital Block, Huangpu District

An innovation center that mainly focuses on developing creative designs for architectural, industrial, fashion, chip, cultural, and tourism. It aims to develop Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a cluster for international brands in the design industry.


6. Longhu Street, Huadu District

The block is located in the core area of China-Singapore Knowledge City, with 4 comprehensive commercial entities and 8 industrial parks, 8,377 economic entities, and 156 enterprises above designated size. 173 foreign enterprises (including Sino-foreign joint ventures) and 92 foreign talents live on Longhu Street.


7. Airport Business and Trade Block, Huadu District

It is next to Baiyun International Airport, which attracted more than 1,000 enterprises in diversified service industries such as aviation, high-end manufacturing, e-commerce, international freight, and clothing.


8. Guangzhou Integrated Cultural Tourism City Block, Huadu District

It is an amusement park covering about 2.2 million square meters and a total investment of 50 billion yuan, including 4 theme parks, high-end hotels, a grand theater, and bars.


9. Qifu New Estates Block, Panyu District

It is an international community with service in transportation, medical care, education, and elderly care in 30 years of development, with 10,000 Hong Kong and Macao residents and 5,000 expats.


10. Jiaomen River Block, Nansha District

It is located in the central area of Nansha free trade zone with about 1,000 permanent residents of foreigners, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents. The area attracts talents in the fields of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and new energy vehicles.


11. Liuxi Hot Spring Tourism Resort Block, Conghua District

It is famous for hot spring, which won the title of "China's first radon-containing hot soda spring" by the China World Records Association.


12. Phoenix City Block, Zengcheng District

It is another international community with a 103,500 permanent population, 800 Hong Kong and Macao residents, and 400 expats.

Moreover, Guangzhou will strengthen the 960169 hotlines and the app, which offer multiple language public services and regularly hold culture communication events to build an international language environment.
