The opening ceremony of the 132nd session of China Import and Export Fair (also known as Canton Fair) will kick off on the morning of October 15, with more than 3.06 million products to be put on display.

"We have further lowered the application threshold to allow more qualified enterprises to participate in and benefit from the Fair. To enhance the exhibitors' online experience, we have also optimized the online platform by extending some service time from 10 days to 5 months," said Xu Bing, spokesman for the fair, at a press conference held in Guangzhou on October 9.

Themed as facilitating dual circulation, the 132nd Canton Fair will cover online display platforms, business matchmaking services, and cross-border e-commerce. More than 35,000 businesses at home and abroad will participate online.

The export-oriented exhibition will showcase 16 product categories with 50 exhibition areas, and the import-oriented exhibition will be categorized into 6 corresponding booths.
So far, a total of 34,744 export exhibitors have registered for the upcoming event, up by 40 percent over the last session. And 416 companies from 34 countries and regions have registered to exhibit their product in import-oriented section.
This year's exhibited products have hit a new record high. Among them, more than 130,000 are smart-related and over 500,000 are green and low-carbon.
According to Xu, the organizer continues to set up special exhibition area for rural revitalization. The online activities will be synchronized with cross-border e-commerce pilot zones and some cross-border e-commerce platforms to help companies from areas that have been lifted out of poverty to tap into both domestic and foreign markets.
