On April 20, Guangdong reported 8 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases (including 2 converted from asymptomatic cases), all in Guangzhou. A total of 4 local asymptomatic cases were also detected in Guangzhou.
Out of the 8 new locally transmitted cases, 2 cases were converted from asymptomatic infections reported previously; 4 were detected among close contacts under quarantine; 2 were detected during screening of areas under COVID-19 control.
The 4 asymptomatic cases were detected during screening of close contacts in quarantine.

Haizhu District
Starting from 2:00 on April 21, lockdown in No. 26, 27 Building, Baitao Yayuan, Changgang Street (昌岗街柏涛雅苑26-27号楼), partial lockdowns in A Zone, Baitao Yayuan, Changgang Street (昌岗街柏涛雅苑A区) and restriction on Baitao Yayuan, Changgang Street (昌岗街柏涛雅苑小区) have been lifted.
Liwan District
Except for the existing areas under COVID-19 control in Fengyuan Street (逢源街道), starting from April 21, all social catering units (including food sales units that provide dine-in services) in 13 streets in the northern Liwan District will resume dine-in services, according to a notice issued by Liwan COVID-19 Control and Prevention Command Center on April 20.
Zengcheng District
Starting from April 21, Zengcheng has removed control measures in lockdown areas, partial lockdown areas, and restricted areas in Xintang Town (新塘镇) and resumed normalized epidemic prevention and control. Currently, there are no areas under COVID-19 control in Zengcheng District.
Foshan adjusted the areas under COVID-19 control; a negative nucleic test result within 48 hours no longer required to leave Foshan
Starting from April 21, areas under COVID-19 control in Foshan will be adjusted as follows:
1. Areas under COVID-19 control in Chancheng District
Chancheng lifted the COVID-19 control measures in Yiyun Agricultural Products Trading Center, Nanzhuang Town (南庄镇易运农产品交易中心).
2. Areas under COVID-19 control in Nanhai District
Nanhai lifted the restrictions in Rooms 123, 124, 125, 126, 127 in the dormitory of Fuxi Vegetable Market in Dali Town (大沥镇扶西蔬菜市场宿舍123、124、125、126、127房).
Starting from April 20, a negative nucleic test result within 48 hours is no longer required for people to leave Foshan. Residents can travel with a green health code.
