Nansha-headquartered company launches constellation satellites

Headquartered in the Nansha District of Guangzhou, Geespace recently launched its 11 Geely-02 constellation satellites from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center and placed them in the designated orbit, using a Long March-2C carrier rocket.

Geely Technology Group has signed a contract with Guangzhou's Nansha district to establish its sole aerospace business headquarters in China, known as Geespace, in the district in 2021. The company has announced plans to collaborate with other aerospace firms in the area, with the aim of transforming Nansha into a new growth center for China's aerospace sector and developing a complete industry chain encompassing rockets, satellites, and downstream applications.

Geely's project in Nansha is expected to have a production scale of over 10 billion yuan ($1.52 billion).
By 2025, Geespace aims to provide global real-time data communication services through the deployment of 72 satellites in the initial phase of the constellation. The second phase will expand the network to 168 satellites, enabling the delivery of global centimeter-level high-precision positioning services.
