The 2022 Lion-headed Goose Cultural Festival was held in Chenghai district, east Guangdong's Shantou on February 22, aiming to let the world know more about Shantou's goose culture and related industries.
The Festival showcased local intangible cultural heritage performances and offered chances for participants to have a taste of the goose dishes.

This particular Festival has attracted participants at home and abroad including Bermello from Ecuador and Twesigye from Rwanda, who said that they were blown away by the pre-prepared food made with goose.

Named for its lion-like head, Lion-head goose is one of the giant goose species in the world with a body weight up to three times than that of an ordinary goose. Shantou has a history of over 300 years in breeding the species and has formed an industrial chain whose annual value exceeds 3.5 billion yuan.
