Guangzhou Development District launches data products focusing on low-altitude economy and smart transportation

Guangzhou Development District unveiled two data products themed around low-altitude logistics and digital driving assistance respectively at a recent conference on Guangzhou's achievements in market-oriented allocation reform of data elements.

It is introduced that the two products are the city's first data products created using district-level public data.

The product, which focuses on low-altitude logistics, is jointly developed by Science City (Guangzhou) Digital Technology Group Co., Ltd. and Unicom (Guangdong) Industrial Internet Co., Ltd. It integrates public data such as meteorology, logistics, and population statistics from Huangpu District with enterprise-owned data. This integration enables predictions of low-altitude transportation demand by time and region. Based on these predictions, drones can be pre-deployed to optimize usage efficiency and reduce idle time.

Currently, Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District boast 51 enterprises in the low-altitude industry chain. In low-altitude logistics, Huangpu has established 10 efficient low-altitude logistics routes, a direct delivery route for cross-border e-commerce in comprehensive bonded zones, and a low-altitude delivery route for urban medical supplies. Efforts are also underway to launch a cross-border low-altitude logistics route with Macao within this year.

The other product centered around digital road-vehicle coordination and smart driving assistance is a self-developed product by Science City (Guangzhou) Digital Technology Group. It integrates public data on route stops, road information, and parking lots from Huangpu District with the company's own traffic situational awareness data.

Through a road-vehicle coordination engine, this product provides accurate and dynamic sensing data and road information for intelligent vehicle driving, addressing the blind spots and limitations of individual autonomous vehicle sensors. It aims to enhance driving safety, efficiency, and reliability while reducing traffic accidents caused by limited driver visibility and response time.

Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District have initiated a construction project based on 102 road intersections with vehicle-road coordination and 133 kilometers of high-precision map-covered road network, adding 230 new road intersections with vehicle-road coordination and 437 kilometers of high-precision map-covered road networks.

Additionally, nearly 800 million pieces of traffic perception data and more than 100 million pieces of traffic event data have been accumulated, with data storage exceeding 30,000 terabytes.

According to an official from the Service and Data Management Bureau of Huangpu District, the district will push forward the high-quality development of the digital economy with data as a key element. It aims to continue pioneering in the reform of market-oriented allocation of data elements and empowering various industries through data.
