Although the Central Meteorological Observatory stopped numbering typhoon "Gaemi" at 8:00 on July 28, its residual impacts are still visible. Together with the southwest monsoon, typhoon "Gaemi" will continue to bring heavy rainfall to South China.

According to Guangdong's provincial meteorological service, on July 29, western Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta are expected to see heavy rainfall, with local downpours or extremely torrential rain. Qingyuan and Shaoguan will have moderate to locally heavy rain, and the rest of the province will experience showers to locally heavy rain. The maximum temperature will be 26-30℃ in western Guangdong, as well as in the cities and counties in the central and southern Pearl River Delta. In most other cities and counties, the maximum temperature will be 30-32℃.
On July 30, cities and counties in western Guangdong and the southern Pearl River Delta will have heavy to locally torrential rain, and other cities and counties will experience (thunder) showers to locally heavy rain. The maximum temperature will be 26-30℃ in western Guangdong, as well as in the cities and counties in the central and southern Pearl River Delta. In most other cities and counties, the maximum temperature will be 30-32℃.
On July 31, western Guangdong, as well as the cities and counties near the Pearl River Estuary, will be cloudy to overcast, with moderate to locally heavy rain. The rest of the province will be cloudy with scattered (thunder) showers. The maximum temperature will be 33-35℃ in central and eastern cities and counties, and 30-33℃ in other cities and counties.
According to the city's meteorological service, Guangzhou is expected to have moderate to locally heavy rain on July 29 and 30. Panyu, Nansha, Liwan, Baiyun, and Zengcheng districts are expected to be the key defense areas for the remaining precipitation process caused by typhoon "Gaemi". On July 31, the precipitation in Guangzhou will be weakened, but there will still be thunderstorms with local rainfall.
