On November 12, a temporary spot was opened at the National Fitness Center in Guangzhou's Haizhu District, providing free resting place for delivery people who can not go home or are stranded in the District due to the epidemic.
This spot is located on the third floor of the National Fitness Center. There are 1000 folding beds inside. Each courier can receive daily necessities such as towels, toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo and slippers for free. There are toilets and shower rooms, as well as drinking water and free power banks. The charging piles for electric bicycles are also set up next to the settlement.
Some couriers living in the spot continue to provide delivery services to residents living in the lockdown zones.
Mr. Chen, a courier who provides delivery services in Haizhu District, cannot go back to his home temporarily due to the pandemic. "It costs more than 100 yuan a day to stay in a hotel, which makes me feel pressured. This site saves me from worrying about accommodation." He said.
This settlement is open 24 hours. The property conducts sanitation and disinfection six times a day to provide a hygienic accommodation environment for couriers.
