In a bid to enrich the cultural life in rural areas, Guangdong Province has launched a new campaign to bring more exhibitions, performances, competitions, and other events to the countryside.
The initiative, which kicked off on April 30 with a ceremony in Guangzhou, is part of Guangdong's broader "Hundreds, Thousands, Tens of Thousands" rural revitalization program, which is now in its third year and aims to develop hundreds of counties, thousands of towns, and tens of thousands of villages across the province.
Alongside the launching ceremony, a vibrant cultural fair is now underway at the Bai'etan GBA Art Center, offering countryside experiences from traditional foods to handcrafted goods and rural specialties. Open to the public through May 2, visitors can walk in, explore, and enjoy this cultural treat beyond the city's limits.
On the third floor of the Guangdong Museum of Art's branch at the same venue, a special photo exhibition features more than 200 images capturing the vibrancy of rural Guangdong. The photos highlight progress in local economies, industrial clusters, tourism, and cultural life, offering a vivid look at how the province is reshaping its countryside.
