Two GD students win championship in WorldSkills Competition

On the evening of October 16 local time, the CNC Turning and CNC Milling projects of the 2022 WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition closed in Leonberg, Germany. Two students from Guangdong Machinery Technician College—Wu Hongyu and Zhou Chujie—claimed the gold medals in the two projects respectively.

Data from the competition's official website shows that contestants from Guangdong have won the CNC milling project for four consecutive years and the CNC Turning project for two consecutive years.

The biennial WorldSkills Competition, known as the "World Skills Olympics", is the largest and most influential vocational skills competition in the world. It is also an important platform for WorldSkills members to present and exchange their professional skills.

The competition will be held in 15 countries in Europe, Asia, and the Americas from mid-September to late November this year, with a total of 62 projects. The Chinese contestants have taken part in 34 projects, among which 11 contestants from Guangdong have entered 11 project competitions.
