2023 Guangzhou Huangpu Marathon to be held on Dec. 24 with 20,000 participants

On the morning of December 7, the press conference of the 2023 Guangzhou Huangpu Marathon was held in Guangzhou, officially announcing the course, medals, and event services of this year's competition.

This year's marathon will start on December 24th, with more than 62,000 people registered and over 20,000 final participants. The competition includes three programs: full marathon, half marathon, and fun run. The starting point of the course is at Phoenix Lake, and both the full marathon and half marathon finish at Jiulong Lake, while the fun run finishes at Yulin No.1 Road.

One of the highlights of the current Huangpu Marathon is that it is green and zero carbon. According to Jin Yinji, Vice General Manager of HTWO Guangzhou, Hyundai plans to bring the world-leading hydrogen energy technology to Huangpu. NEXO, the world's top-selling hydrogen fuel-cell SUV, will serve as the timing car, and hydrogen fuel-cell buses and trucks developed by Hyundai will also provide convenient transportation for relevant personnel and the luggage of the participants.

From the 21st to the 23rd, a sports expo will also be held at Knowledge City Square. At the same time, the 2023 Guangzhou International Shopping Festival will set up its sub-venue for promoting quality products in Huangpu District. Participants can collect materials for the competition and take photos at the venue.

"I have been an active participant in the Huangpu Marathon since 2018, both half and full marathons. I live in Huangpu, and we like it very much," said Lin Simei, the deputy head of the Outdoor Sports Association of Peking University in Guangdong. She and her teammates prepare for the competition every week. "This year, the Huangpu Marathon will take place in the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, and many enthusiasts have already visited the course site. Its design is scientific, and we are looking forward to it," Lin added.
