Guangzhou may enter summer by the end of March, much earlier than expected, though a cold front is forecasted to hit Guangdong province this week, bringing a slight drop in temperature and light rain.
According to China's season division standard, summer starts when a city's 5-day moving average temperature, namely the average temperature of 5 straight days,, is higher than 22℃. As the cold snap is relatively weak, the average temperature in Guangzhou is expected to stay above 22℃ this week, suggesting a possibility that the city may enter the summer season at the end of March instead of May.
