Guangzhou immigration authority addresses green-card clipping rumors

Recently, there have been overseas media reports claiming that some Chinese passengers had their green cards clipped at the airport in Guangzhou, invalidating them for further overseas travel.

Guangzhou Immigration Inspection (GII) today (May 13) dismissed false news on its border control practices, saying such rumors have affected the regular entry-exit management.

The false news has been misleading citizens and disturbing the regular work of immigration officials, and the authority reserves the right to take legal actions against people disseminating the rumors and stigmatizing the image of immigration authorities, according to the GII.

The GII suggests people to call the 24-hour service hotline 12367 if they have any query about the entry-exit management measures.
