7th CIIE kicks off with record-breaking participation and strong Guangdong presence

The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened its doors today at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, welcoming an unprecedented lineup of exhibitors and attendees. Over the past six years, CIIE has established itself as a premier global platform for trade and investment, generating an impressive $420 billion in intended transactions to date.

This year, the exhibition space covers more than 360,000 square meters and features 3,496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions. Both the number of participating countries and exhibitors have hit new heights, with 297 companies from the Fortune Global 500 and other industry leaders present, setting a historic record. Notably, 186 companies have been part of the expo every year since its inception.

Guangdong is making a strong presence this year at CIIE, with 3,393 registered units and 5,539 participants, including 3,090 companies. The showcase of the province spans multiple exhibition spaces, including a 450-square-meter cultural pavilion that highlights the heritage and innovation of 30 renowned Lingnan brands through interactive experiences. The Nansha exhibition zone features 20 enterprises, emphasizing the area's trade advantages, while Guangzhou's Huangpu District pavilion showcases cutting-edge industries such as intelligent manufacturing and bio-medicine. Guangdong is also organizing over 25 investment activities and plans to host dialogues with multinational companies, underscoring its commitment to fostering international partnerships.
