Dongguan Strawberry Music Festival attracts 50,000 visitors, boosts consumption by 160 million RMB

From October 4 to 5, the 2024 Dongguan Strawberry Music Festival illuminated Humen Park, attracting nearly 50,000 music fans over two days. Preliminary estimates indicate that the festival directly generated approximately 160 million RMB in consumption across the city's hotel, dining, shopping, cultural tourism, transportation, and trendy toy sectors. From October 1 to 5 alone, Humen Town attracted nearly 1.83 million visitors.

At the event, the trendy toy IP featuring Dongguan's famous roast goose, "Guan Xiao E," was launched. Three original products—a roast goose keychain, a roast goose backpack, and a roast goose pillow—captivated many music lovers, resulting in significant sales.

The festival showcased its unique charm, invigorating the integration of Dongguan's local cultural and tourism industries. During the National Day holiday, Dongguan hosted nearly 500 cultural and tourism activities, introduced six new travel routes, and offered discounts at various hotels. Additionally, a free holiday tourist shuttle service was launched to transform the influx of visitors into economic benefits through the “Shop Dongguan: Strawberry Music Festival” promotional campaign.

To facilitate travel and entertainment for music fans during the festival, Dongguan connected its unique cultural and tourism resources by launching 13 direct tourist bus routes to popular attractions, ensuring that visitors could fully enjoy their time in the city.

As of October 5 at 11 PM, more than 376 shuttle services had been operated, providing public transport for over 13,500 attendees. Additionally, five designated drop-off and pick-up zones were established for taxis and ride-hailing services. Approximately 6,700 ride-hailing trips were made during the two-day event, with around 9,900 orders to and from Humen Park.
