A technology alliance for ocean cultural heritage established in Guangdong

Guangdong has recently established its technology alliance for ocean cultural heritage, guided by the Guangdong Bureau of Cultural Relics.

Eight initiating units, including the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey, Guangzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology, Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong, Guangzhou Maritime Museum, Guangdong Provincial Laboratory of Southern Marine Science and Engineering (Zhuhai), and School of Marine Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University jointly signed the charter.

According to the charter, members of the technology alliance will strengthen exploratory innovation and collaboration in terms of areas in marine archaeology investigation, key technological research and development in archaeology, archaeological equipment improvement, archaeological achievement transformation, protection and restoration of underwater cultural relics, and talent team construction.
