Zhanjiang reports 3 new local cases
On August 17, Zhanjiang reported 3 new local cases. All the cases were detected from the key populations associated with the epidemic outbreak in Leizhou on August 4. They have been sent to the designated hospital in Zhanjiang for isolation and treatment.
Case 1
A male, 64 years old, living in Wupeng Village, Beihe Town, Leizhou (雷州市北和镇吴蓬村). After consultation, the patient was diagnosed as a confirmed (mild) case of COVID-19.
Case 2
A female, 57 years old, living in Wupeng Village, Beihe Town, Leizhou (雷州市北和镇吴蓬村). After consultation, the patient was diagnosed as a confirmed (mild) case of COVID-19.
Case 3
A male, 36 years old, living in Shanyan Village, Qindou Town, Leizhou (雷州市覃斗镇上言村). After consultation, the patient was diagnosed as a confirmed (mild) case of COVID-19.
Guangzhou reports an asymptomatic infection
On August 17, Guangzhou reported an asymptomatic infection. The case is a close contact with another asymptomatic infection who returned from outside the province.
Case 1
A male, 51 years old, living in Tianyuan Subdistrict, Tianhe District (天河区天园街道). He returned to Guangzhou on August 14 and was detected positive for COVID-19 on August 17, and then sent to the Eighth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University in a closed loop.
