Recently, the construction of three intercity railways involving cities like Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan and Qingyuan in Guangdong province has seen noticeable progress.

Here's the update:
1. Zhuhai-Zhuhai Airport Intercity Railway Phase II
On November 5, the first batch of 400-meter steel rails was successfully placed on the Phase II project of Zhuhai-Zhuhai Airport Intercity Railway. It marks that the project has entered the laying construction phase of long rails.

It's 22.8-kilometer western extension line from Hengqin Chimelong Station to Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport.
The whole line will start operation in 2023 as planned. By then, traveling from Jinwan to Hengqin will take 10 to 25 minutes, while from Zhuhai Airport to Gongbei just 25 minutes.

2. Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway
With the Smart City station being capped, Guangzhou East Ring Intercity Railway has now completed the main body construction on 7 stations.

The line, 46.75 kilometers in length, is designed to travel between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Airport North Station at a speed of 160 km/h. There are a total of 8 stations, including Pazhou station built under the project of Guangzhou Metro Line 11.
Upon completion, it will take just 30 minutes from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Airport North Station, 10 minutes from Tianhe CBD to Guangzhou South Railway Station and 20 minutes to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
3. North extension of Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway
The first section of the north extension of Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway wrapped up its construction of the first precast box girder, laying a foundation for the subsequent girder installation, bridge deck, ballastless track bed and rail laying construction.

With a total length of 19.74 kilometers and a design speed of 200 km/h, the railway starts from Qingyuan Railway Station, passes through Yanhu New City Station (Chinese: 燕湖新城), Qingyuan East Railway Station, and Feixia Mountain Station (Chinese:飞霞山) before terminating at Guangdong Vocational Education City Station (Chinese:省职教城) in the northeastern urban area of Qingyuan.
The intercity railway project will accelerate the economic integration between Guangzhou and Qingyuan and make Qingyuan one of the city clusters along the "GBA on Rail".
