China Southern opens direct flights linking Beijing and Dhaka

To meet the travel needs of passengers in China and Bangladesh, China Southern Airlines officially launched a new direct route from Beijing Daxing International Airport to Dhaka on July 15. This fills the gap of no direct flight route between China Southern Airlines' traffic hub in Daxing, Beijing, and South Asian countries, and expands the number of its international and regional destinations in Beijing Daxing to 16.

The flight number of the Daxing, Beijing-Dhaka route is CZ8009/8010, which is operated every Monday and Saturday by a 200-seat Airbus A320NEO aircraft. The flight departs from Beijing Daxing International Airport at 17:20 Beijing time and arrives at Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport at 20:40 local time, with a flight duration of 5 hours and 20 minutes.

The return flight departs from Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport at 22:10 local time and arrives at Beijing Daxing International Airport at 05:15 Beijing time the next day, with a flight duration of 5 hours and 5 minutes. The flight can connect to over 40 domestic and overseas destinations such as Xi'an, Harbin, Seoul, and Tokyo.

Bangladesh, located in the northeastern part of the South Asian subcontinent, is the first South Asian country to join the Belt and Road Initiative. Its capital, Dhaka, is known as the City of Mosques. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of economic, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh. More and more Bangladeshi people are eager to learn about Chinese culture and have the opportunity to travel, study, and do business in China.

Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh, which is an important milestone in the history of China-Bangladesh relations. The bilateral relations and friendly cooperation between the two countries in various fields are facing new and crucial opportunities for development.

According to China Southern Airlines, in the future, it will continue to enrich its international and regional route network to provide more convenience for passengers, and further facilitate economic and cultural exchanges between China and Belt and Road partners.
