More efforts into GZ's Nansha district for its state-level new area development

More sci-tech resources will be introduced to Guangzhou's Nansha District to support Nansha Science City in developing its state-level scientific facilities, according to the Action Plan for Promoting High-quality Development of State-level New Areas recently released by China's top economic planner.

Nansha District, one of the state-level new areas, was mentioned in the action plan to be made into one of the new highlands of reform and opening-up.

Measures will be taken to cultivate new forms of consumption in Nansha and develop it into an international consumption center by increasing product variety, improving product quality, and building new brands.

A comprehensive service base will be constructed in Nansha to support Chinese enterprises to go global.

Also in the plan are measures to provide a pilot mechanism for overseas talent recognition, making it easier to introduce talent.

China now has 19 state-level new areas, including Pudong, Xiong'an, and Binhai new areas, according to the National Development and Reform Commission. In 2023, the gross domestic product of the 19 regions reached 6.2 trillion yuan (about 873.55 billion U.S. dollars), around 5 percent of the GDP nationwide.
