After making landfall in Pingtung County in Taiwan Province, typhoon Koinu is forecast to sweep past or land in east Guangdong again on October 7, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.
Now Koinu is moving westward at a speed of 10 km/h. It is predicted to enter the northeast South China Sea on the evening of October 5, gradually weakening in intensity.

The Guangzhou Railway Group has adjusted some train services to brace for typhoon Koinu. Train K232/29 will terminate in Guangzhou from October 5 to 6. Train K231/0, which is scheduled to originate from Xiamen North Railway Station on October 6 and 7, will start from Guangzhou on October 7 and 8. Trains K297/300 and K299/8 will be canceled on October 6 and 7. Trains K9279/82 and K9281/0 will be suspended on October 7.

On October 5, east Guangdong will see cloudy skies and scattered thundershowers, with localized heavy rain. The remaining areas will be sunny to cloudy with localized thundershowers. The highs will stay around 32℃-35℃ across the province.
On October 6, there will be heavy rain and localized torrential rain in east Guangdong. The southern Pearl River Delta will experience thundershowers with localized torrential rain. The rest of the province will be cloudy to sunny with localized showers. The highs will hit 31℃-35℃ across the province.
On October 7 to 8, torrential rain and localized rainstorms are forecast for east Guangdong. Heyuan, Meizhou, and the eastern Pearl River Delta will see moderate to heavy rain. The remaining areas will be cloudy to sunny with scattered showers.
On October 9, the southern part of Guangdong will experience showers with localized heavy rain. The rest of the province will be cloudy to sunny.
