Dhanin Chearavanont on high-quality development: "It is, in essence, people-oriented"

In an exclusive interview with GDToday during his visit, Dhanin Chearavanont, the senior chairman of Thailand's CP Group, talked about his reflection on China's rapid development, the significance of the reform and opening-up policy, and the importance of attracting global talent to contribute to China's high-quality development.

Guangdong held its provincial high-quality development conference on February 18, the first working day after the Chinese New Year holiday. During the warm winter before the Chinese New Year, Dhanin Chearavanont returned to his hometown of Shantou for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dhanin Chearavanont emphasized the role of innovation in the success of businesses and shared his experiences in diversifying CP Group's ventures, from agriculture to retail and beyond. He discussed the challenges faced, such as during the Asian financial crisis, and highlighted the importance of maintaining innovative and adapting to changes.

In addition, he discussed in depth the foresight of the Belt and Road Initiative and expressed optimism about its positive impact on regional development. In the interview, he also talked about his commitment to giving back to his hometown in Shantou, Guangdong, demonstrating his family's charitable efforts in supporting education and public welfare projects.

CP Group is one of the first foreign companies to enter China since the implementation of the opening-up policy in the 1970s. Dhanin Chearavanont, as the head of the Group, has witnessed China's achievements over the past four decades.
