Recently, a very rare kind of freshwater jellyfish was found in Zhongshan City, Guangdong. These jellyfish are Craspedacusta, which is globally an endangered wild animal.
The Craspedacusta is crystal clear, and graceful like a peach blossom. Due to the small number and high value in biological evolution research, the jellyfish is regarded as a "living fossil" by experts.
The staff of the Zhongshan Agriculture and Rural Bureau said that the Craspedacusta is very sensitive to external disturbances and hoped the public keep a distance from it, hence giving the jellyfish a quiet and safe environment. Next, the Bureau will strengthen cooperation with relevant research institutions to classify and identify the jellyfish discovered this time, so as to prepare for the establishment of a long-term protection mechanism for Craspedacusta.
