Guangdong is to face the strongest push of cold air so far this season, with forecasters warning of a possible temperature drop of 9-13℃ on December 16, according to Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.
A relatively weak cold wave is expected to bring a slight temperature decrease and scattered light rain in the central-north areas on December 12, while other regions are projected to see cloudy-to-overcast skies. Lows in the northern part of north Guangdong are forecast to range from 10-13℃, 19-22℃ in south Guangdong, and 13-19℃ in the remaining areas.
The temperatures will warm up from Wednesday. On December 13 and 14, lows in north Guangdong are expected to range from 12-16℃, 19-23℃ in west Guangdong and Pearl River Delta, and 16-19℃ in the remaining areas. West Guangdong is likely to experience cloudy skies with overcast periods and localized light rain, while other regions will be cloudy with sunny spells.
A strong cold wave is projected to arrive in Guangdong on Saturday, with Guangzhou expected to see a low of 7℃ on Sunday.
