On August 15, Guangdong reported 6 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases (1 in Guangzhou, 1 in Foshan, 3 in Zhanjiang and 1 in Maoming), and 8 local asymptomatic infections (2 in Shenzhen, 1 in Foshan, 1 in Dongguan and 4 in Zhanjiang). 3 cases were converted from asymptomatic cases, all in Zhanjiang.
Guangzhou reports 1 new confirmed case
On August 15, Guangzhou reported 1 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 case who was from another province and was detected by domestic quarantine observation.
Shenzhen reports 2 asymptomatic cases
On August 15, Shenzhen reported 2 asymptomatic infections. The cases were found in observation as a close contact of a case from outside the province, and then sent to the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen for isolation and treatment in stable condition.
Foshan reports 1 new confirmed case
On August 15, 1 new locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed case was detected in Shiwan Town Street, Chanchen District. The case arrived at Foshanfrom another province on August 13, and the nucleic acid test turned positive on August 15 while undergoing domestic quarantine observation and was diagnosed as a COVID-19 confirmed case and has been sent to the designated hospital in a closed loop.
Zhanjiang detects 3 new confirmed cases and 4 asymptomatic infections
On August 15, Zhanjiang reported 3 new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 4 asymptomatic cases. The 3 confirmed cases were converted from asymptomatic cases. All the cases were detected from the key population associated with the outbreak in Leizhou on August 4. They have been sent to the designated hospital in Zhanjiang for isolation and treatment.
Maoming's Dianbai District detects 1 new confirmed case
On August 15, 1 new locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed case was detected in Dianbai District, Maoming, who was found in a close contact population under quarantine. The case was in the same transmission chain as the case announced in the district on May 5 and has been transferred to the designated hospital for isolation and treatment in a closed loop.
