A strong cold wave is forecasted to influence Guangdong from the evening of January 19, resulting in a temperature drop of about 10 degrees Celsius, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Observatory.
The temperature is likely to drop further on January 20, with heavy winds, overcast skies, and scattered light rain expected in Guangzhou.

From January 16 to 17, western Guangdong will be cloudy with overcast periods, localized light rain, and light mist in the morning and evening. Other regions will be sunny to cloudy.
The lows will range from 7 to 12 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Guangdong, as well as the northern Pearl River Delta, 15 to 20 degrees Celsius in the estuary of the Pearl River and the coastal areas of western Guangdong, 12 to 15 degrees Celsius in the remaining areas.
On January 18, cloudy-to-overcast skies with scattered light rain are forecasted in western Guangdong and the western Pearl River Delta. The rest of the province will experience a cloudy day with localized light rain.
The lows will hover around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Guangdong, as well as the northern Pearl River Delta, 18 to 22 degrees Celsius in the estuary of the Pearl River and the coastal areas of western Guangdong, 15 to 18 degrees Celsius in the remaining areas.
