Known as the "Gateway of East Guangdong" and "the capital of toys in China", Chenhai District of Shantou boasts its crafts and toys industry. Now, it has formed a complete toy industrial chain, including toy design and development, mold making, producing and processing, printing and packaging, exhibition and trade promotion, and logistics distribution.

When Zhongyang Avenueopens to traffic, it will cut the traveling time from 30 minutes to just 15 minutes for downtown commuters.

With a total length of about 15.42 kilometers, Zhongyang Avenue starts from the east bank of Xinjin River Bridge in Longhu District and ends at Lianfeng Road in Chenghai District. It started construction in May 2019 and was completed in June 2022.

Covering an area of 76.05 square kilometers, Shantou Liuhe Industrial Park isthe core area of the city's large-scale industrial cluster zone as well as one of the eight key industrial development platforms that Shantou will build during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). The Park will focus on the development of new materials, new energy, precision machinery manufacturing and digital creative industries.
