A pilot expressway section leading to Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport will open to traffic this September. By then, The drive will be cut by 20 minutes for those traveling along the Yunfu-Zhanjiang Expressway.

With a total length of 5 kilometers, this pilot section completed the road surface construction on August 22. Now, it is being wrapped up after a construction period of nearly 15 months.

The Zhanjiang Airport Expressway Project has a total length of 25 kilometers and is designed with two-way six lanes. The whole project has two construction phases. The first phase is about 18 kilometers, while the second one is about 7 kilometers. Currently, every phase is being steadily advanced as planned.

Upon completion, it will be connected with Zhanjiang Wuchuan Airport Ring Road, Yunfu-Zhangjiang Expressway, Tiaoshun Bridge, and Wuchuan Branch Line of Shantou-Zhanjiang Expressway, thereby further strengthening the connectivity of transport network in Western Guangdong.
