Dongguan's 11-year-old BMX rider clinches victory at FISE Shanghai

On October 18, 11-year-old Liu Haoran from Huangjiang Town in Dongguan made headlines by winning the championship in the men's youth park competition at the FISE World Extreme Sports Tour in Shanghai, representing the Chinese national team.

FISE is renowned as the largest and most comprehensive extreme sports event globally. This year's Shanghai stop features six international competitions, attracting nearly 560 athletes from 39 countries and regions who are vying for titles in nine finals. Notably, FISE places a strong emphasis on youth and amateur categories, highlighting the potential of young athletes.

As a competitor born after 2010, Liu Haoran has gained significant recognition in several national events this year. In September, he claimed both the championship and the runner-up position at the National Youth BMX Club Athlete Selection and the 2024 National Youth BMX Championships.

In July, Liu dominated the 2024 National Youth U-Series BMX Championship and the first leg of the 2024 China BMX League in Changli, Hebei, securing titles in both the 10-12 age group and the youth category. His impressive achievements mark him as a rising star in the BMX sport.
