The admission letter is known as the first meet and greet gift from a university to its student. Recently newly admitted college students in Guangdong received their admission letters one after another. Here are the ingenious details in these promising letters.
Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA)
Covered by a minimalist splash-ink painting, the admission "box" of GAFA is both artistic and practical. It contains a cake-style candle, a knife and a fork, a candle-style badge, a backpack and admission documents. According to the designer, the scented cake-style candle symbolizes the school's "Happy Birthday" wishes to all freshmen.
GAFA's offers for doctoral students, postgraduates and undergraduates are designed in same appearance but in three different colors—gold, silver and blue, representing different stages of study.
Shenzhen University
Shenzhen University has been sending admission letters with different themes in box-style for seven years. This year's theme is "Go ___ Different". The box contains a souvenir T-shirt, a hat, a badge, and exquisite illustrations featuring shades of fluorescent green. It can also be used to store textbooks or plant flowers.
Uniqueness and innovation are in the genes of Shenzhen and Shenzhen University. The fluorescent green represents the vitality and creativity of the freshmen, and encourages young people to dare to be different.
Southern Medical University (SMU)
SMU applied augmented reality (AR) technology to produce its admission letters. After scanning the letter with a special application, freshmen can see a three-dimensional cast model of the human body in Asia's largest human science museum, which is located on the campus of SMU.
The inner pages of the letter are punched with a pinhole, so that new students can engrave or cut the offers in a creative way, then turn the pages up to present 3D campus landscapes. Iconic buildings and elements of SMU, including the school gate, pond, bridge, tower, doctors and patients, are all incorporated into the inside pages.
