On August 29, a GDToday reporter visited the Caihongqiao Station which is under construction and learned that this station, together with Xicun Station, had finished their main civil work.
Currently, the two stations are in the phase of mechanical and electrical engineering. Caihongqiao will undergo operation tests within the next few days. The two stations are expected to be put into use at the end of this year.

As an important interchange station, Caihongqiao connects Line 8, Line 11, and Line 13 as a transit hub. The construction area of the station is about 86,000 square meters, which is equivalent to 4 normal stations.
Most of the decoration work in Caihongqiao Station has been completed. Featuring a special "high station hall" with a 10.4-meter height, the station hall is more than twice the height of a normal metro station and creates a large volume of space. With the theme of "rainbow" (Caihong), the ceiling of the station is decorated with curved grilles and light strips. In the meantime, the brightness and hue of the lights can be adjusted to form a "rainbow".

Moreover, it fully inherits the deep cultural legacy of the area where it is located, including Si Ma Chong, an ancient river in the north of Liwan District, as well as Lychee Bay and Liuhuahu Park. The Station not only meets the transportation needs, but also improves the overall experiences of passengers, echoing the cultural essence of the region.
To restore Caihongqiao's vicissitudes of history as a west fortress in Nanyue, it uses "city walls" as the main design idea for its walls, introduces elements of the west city wall in the Southern Han Dynasty, it chooses beige travertine material with a great sense of history and art, and employs a lighting system.
