High-risk sports, such as swimming and rock climbing, involve specialized skills and inherent safety risks. Due to their potential for accidents, they require strict licensing and regulatory oversight.
To enhance rescue capabilities and promote the safe development of high-risk sports, Huicheng District of Huizhou City recently held the "2025 High-Risk Sports Safety Training and Swimming Rescue Skills Refresher Course." The event drew 112 lifeguards from 56 organizations across the district for training and evaluation.
The morning session featured expert-led lectures on swimming pool safety, rock climbing safety, and fire prevention. In the afternoon, participants engaged in practical drills, including full-process rescue simulations, obstacle speed swimming, rope-throwing rescues, and team relays. The training assessed both individual skills and team coordination, reinforcing a comprehensive safety approach focused on prevention, response, and collaboration.
Huizhou City is home to 463 swimming pool operators and nine climbing facilities, with Huicheng District accounting for 151 pools and four climbing venues. This training plays a vital role in strengthening frontline safety and ensuring the secure operation of high-risk sports activities.
