​Guangzhou's Nansha saw foreign trade volume up 48.4% from Jan to Aug

Guangzhou's Nansha District saw its foreign trade volume increased 48.4 percent year-on-year to 387.85 billion RMB in the first eight months of 2022, according to the Guangzhou government on October 8.

Nansha's foreign trade has been increasing since 2012. In 2021, Nansha achieved a total foreign trade value of 260.03 billion RMB, with a year-on-year growth of 14.7%.

Deng Tao, Deputy Commissioner of Nansha Customs said that Nansha Customs focuses on such fields as cross-border e-commerce, aircraft bonded leasing, automobile industry chain, cold chain, bulk cargo, and international distribution.

“We develop supportive policies to promote emerging industries, improve customs clearance efficiency, build connected industry chains and supply chains, and satisfy enterprises' needs,” said Deng.

The Customs statistics from January to August show that the value of cross-border e-commerce exports increased by 5.8 times year-on-year; the value of fruit imports increased by nearly 5 times; the number of automobile exports increased by 4.9 times.

As for the value of imports and exports of the Nansha Free Trade Zone, it increased by nearly 40% year-on-year. And the value of grain imports at Nansha Port increased by 15%, making it the largest grain import port in Guangdong Province.
