The total investment of the project is about 4 billion RMB, and it can support the production of batteries for 120 thousand new energy vehicles, with an annual output value of 7.2 billion RMB. It is planned to finish construction and start production by the end of September this year.

The project is situated in Dongchong Town in Nansha District, entails cell production, battery safety experimentation, testing, and packing battery cells.

Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology is incubated by Chinese state-owned automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Group). The company's eXtreme Fast Charging technology has made it possible to fast-charge electric vehicles to 80% in just 8 minutes, and it has been used in some GAC Aion models.

Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology announced its plan to jointly build 1,000 supercharger stations in Guangzhou with other enterprises in the industry from 2022 to 2025, enabling electric vehicle owners to find a supercharger station within 5 minutes.

"Based on our Nansha headquarters and manufacturing base, we will invest 30 billion RMB in setting up 4 to 5 manufacturing bases in North China, East China, and Southwest China," said Huang Xiangdong, Chairman of Guangzhou Greater Bay Technology.
