The Fijian Culture, Tourism and Art Exchange Center was inaugurated at Nansha Bird Park in Guangzhou's Nansha District on May 11.
"The exchange center will be a platform for communication between both private sectors and public sectors in Fiji and China, which brings opportunities for both sides to take advantage of their advantageous resources and promote cooperation," said RAYALU Vatimi Tidara Tuinasakea Kaunitawake, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways Fiji of the Republic of Fiji.
Xie Wei, Deputy Party Secretary of the Nansha Development Zone Party Working Committee, said that information on industries and local products will be showcased by the exchange center, adding "Cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, trade, and fishery will be boosted."
Guangzhou has forged a friendly-city tie with Suva of the Republic of Fiji since 2015. According to the Nansha government, the district expects to establish a demonstration area of cultural, tourism, and business-integrated cooperation under Belt and Road Initiative based on the operation of the exchange center.
