Nyingchi, a picturesque prefecture-level city in China's Tibet Autonomous Region, is now welcoming all Guangdong residents to take a trip there. On July 12, the "2022 Guangdong-Tibet (Nyingchi) investment and tourism promotion conference" was held in Guangzhou, at which Nyingchi sent out an invitation to residents and enterprises from Guangdong.

Representatives from Guangdong and Nyingchi signed 6 investment projects of 1.663 billion RMB at the conference. Meanwhile, Pubu Zhuoma, a staff member of the Nyingchi Tourism Board, especially introduced the rich tourism resources in Nyingchi, a city adorned with beautiful lakes, snow-capped mountains and forests.
Tibet has been a popular destination for domestic and overseas tourists for decades because of its landscape and unique traditional culture. Compared with most areas in Tibet, Nyingchi is at a lower altitude, has higher humidity and a milder climate, which is believed to be an ideal first stop to explore Tibet.

"Nyingchi" means "throne of the Sun" in Tibetan. This city is home to Yarlung Zangbu Grand Canyon, Namcha Barwa Peak, Pagsum Lake, as well as seven national forest parks, wetland parks and geoparks. Meanwhile, the city also owns both historical relics and Tibetan medicine. With several ethnic minority groups, Nyingchi also retains unique custom and traditions with distinctive ethnic features.

Guangdong has been implementing "pairing assistance" programs in Tibet for 28 years, channeling financial, technical and human resource support including 10 batches of cadres to Nyingchi and 6.35 billion RMB of investment to Tibet.
In recent years, Nyingchi has seen a booming cultural tourism industry, creating unique brands such as the "Peach Blossom Tourism and Culture Festival" and the "Matsutake Gourmet Festival". The cultural and tourism exchange and integration between Nyingchi and Guangdong becomes more profound, and Guangdong has become the largest tourist source for Nyingchi.
At present, Guangdong residents can take direct flights from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai to Nyingchi.
